What is the Child Dental Benefits Schedule?
Supa Dental proudly bulk-bills CDBS, so if your child is eligible, you won’t pay a cent out of pocket for included services, up to the benefit limit.
CDBS Eligibility
Who Can Get CDBS?
Your child may be eligible if they meet all three of the following:
- Aged 0–17 for at least one day this calendar year
- Eligible for Medicare
- You or your child received a relevant payment at least once during the year (e.g. Family Tax Benefit Part A, Parenting Payment, Carer Payment, ABSTUDY, Youth Allowance, Disability Support Pension)

What’s Covered by CDBS?
Covered treatments are focused on preventive and essential care. These include:
✔ Examinations & check-ups
✔ X-rays
✔ Professional cleaning
✔ Fissure sealants
✔ Fluoride treatments
✔ Fillings
✔ Root canal treatments
✔ Tooth extractions
✔ Partial dentures (if clinically required)
✘ Not covered: orthodontic treatment (e.g. braces), cosmetic procedures, services provided in hospital.
How to Use the Child Dental Benefits Schedule at Supa Dental
- Check your eligibility (we can help)
- Book your child’s appointment
- Bring your Medicare card on the day
- We bulk-bill your child’s treatment (no paperwork, no gap fees)
You can start using the benefit as soon as eligibility is confirmed. Unused amounts from the first year carry over to the second (if your child remains eligible), but anything unused after two years will expire.
